The Blue Tees origin story is brilliant, and I believe it’s one of the reasons they have been such a massive hit with everyday golfers like you and me.
The founders of Blue Tees were ordinary golfers who were looking for a decent rangefinder, and as many golfers do, they went onto Amazon and bought some budget versions. Unfortunately for them (but not for us) these were really poor quality.
This experience inspired them to make the bold step of designing, building, and marketing their rangefinder brand!
Understanding how Blue Tees started will give you a good insight into why the quality and performance of these devices are so highly rated by thousands of customers. In our recent list of Best Golf Rangefinders, it performed really well.
In this article, I’ll review the Blue Tees Series 3 Max rangefinder in more detail, and you’ll see how this has been designed with golfers in mind.
So let’s get into the review and share why this could be the best golf rangefinder on the market, and if you stick around to the end of this article I’ll even share an exclusive discount code where you can save an additional 10% off all Blue Tees products!

First Impressions
The Blue Tees Golf Series 3 Max Rangefinder looks cool, and from the moment you open the box, (which is one of the highest quality boxes I’ve seen), it oozes style, it’s much like the quality you get from the packaging in Apple products.
Once inside the box the device looks very modern, it feels high-grade and the chrome effect styling along the front display, and on the slope button gives this a premium finish.
It comes in a variety of colors, Navy, Black, White, or Rose. The package also includes a microfiber cloth for quick cleaning and 3 extra batteries.
As you’ve already seen, this rangefinder is packed full of innovative technology. On top of this, the price is excellent, making it one of the best value rangefinders on the market.
Auto-Ambient HD display
First up the Blue Tees Series 3 Max Laser Rangefinder has an auto-ambient HD display, in simple terms, this means that it provides a sharp readout whatever the weather.
Whether you’re out on a sunny day or playing golf in the rain, the Auto-Ambient HD Display automatically adjusts to ensure you get a clear, easily readable display.
This is an excellent feature as you would usually have to switch between different displays manually. With this, you can dial in the distance clearly every time.
Continuous Scan Mode
The Blue Tees Series 3 Max Laser Rangefinder has a continuous scan mode that allows you to laser the distance to hazards, trees, pins, and other objects on the course without having to press the button repeatedly.
This is great as this active tracking makes your golf experience smoother, more efficient, and you can trust the accuracy every time.
Advanced Flag Lock & Pulse Vibration

Sticking with the theme of accuracy, which is the most important element in a quality rangefinder, the Blue Tees Series 3 has an advanced flag lock feature with pulse vibration. This ensures that you have the correct target when you are aiming through the scope.
When you lock onto the flag, the rangefinder emits short pulses of vibration, which lets you know that you’ve got the target in your sights. This not only boosts your confidence but also ensures you’re focusing on the right spot.
900-Yard Range

Further increasing your confidence this rangefinder also can measure distances up to a range of 900 yards. Blue Tees states that this is still accurate within one yard even from this far away.
Also, the magnification of x7 makes it even easier to get a clear focus on your intended target.
This distance and magnification are more than you will find in some of the more expensive rangefinders on the market. So whether you’re trying to determine the exact distance to the flag or measuring distances to hazards and trees, being able to trust the accuracy within one yard makes a massive difference.
Adjustable Slope Measurement
The Series 3 Max doesn’t stop at measuring distances; it has a slope measurement feature that provides the most accurate distance measurement. When you’re on a hilly course, this rangefinder can account for inclines and declines between you and your target.
I always say that this is one of the most important features you should always get in a rangefinder, and the fact that it can be turned on and off means you can still use this device in your local club competition without getting disqualified!

Other Excellent Features
Some of the other important and notable features of the Blue Tees Series 3 Max rangefinder is the built-in magnet which allows you to attach it to your golf cart, or any other metal surface. This makes it easy to use when you’re riding a golf cart and means no more fumbling around in your bag, your rangefinder can always be within arm’s reach.
Also as golf is a year-round sport, the Series 3 Max is built to withstand the elements. The Blue Tees rangefinder is weather-resistant, which means that it can handle rain or shine, making it good to use regardless of the weather conditions,
Blue Tees Series 3 Max Laser Rangefinder – Any Downsides?
I’m a big fan of this rangefinder, the device has so many amazing features which means it stacks fairly up well versus other high-end devices like the Garmin Z82, Bushnell V5, and Pro X3 but it also has a few downsides.
The accuracy, although very good, is not as good as in more premium models. The size of the device is also slightly bigger than other recent releases such as the Shot Scope Pro L2 rangefinder. Also, users have reported that even with flag lock, at distances over 200 yards, it may sometimes struggle to capture accurate reads if there are trees behind the green.
However, these are minor points and there are thousands of positive reviews posted online and on the Blue Tees website. I’m confident that if you choose this device you won’t be disappointed.
How Much Does The Blue Tees Series 3 Max Cost?
This is one of the best features of this rangefinder, it is a very reasonable price, especially given the number and quality of features available in this device.
Currently retailing at $199 this is a mid-priced rangefinder, and offers considerable value.

How Does It Compare? The Blue Tees Series 3 vs Shot Scope PRO L2
In this category of rangefinder, the Shot Scope PRO L2 is a competitor, there are lots of similarities, but I personally think the extra magnification and flag range make the Blue Tees Series 3 the winner for me.
Should You Get It?
Overall, the Blue Tees Series 3 Max Laser Rangefinder is an excellent choice for golfers who want a rangefinder that is both affordable and packed with features. The rangefinder is compact, and easy to use, the display is crystal clear, affordable, and has some features that are usually found in more premium-priced rangefinders.
In addition, the Blue Tees Series 3 Rangefinder stands out as it looks so stylish, it’s perfect for golfers who want to look great on the course.
Also, its ability to account for slopes, continuous scan mode, customizable display, and reliable performance in varying lighting and weather conditions ensure that you have all the tools you need for success on the golf course.
